The body of a pensioner has been pulled from an Aberdeenshire river on Christmas Day, police have confirmed.
Officers were called to the River Deveron in Huntly on Sunday, December 25, before the 81-year-old was recovered from the waterway at around 9.30am.
Investigators say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and his family have been told the heartbreaking news.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal as is the case with all sudden deaths.
A statement from Police Scotland said: “Around 9.30am on Sunday, December 25, the body of an 81-year-old man was recovered from the River Deveron, Huntly.
“His family are aware and there are no suspicious circumstances. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
