The body of a missing man has been found in Caerleon. Sam Gwilliam, 42, was reported missing on Saturday, July 2.
Gwent Police launched an appeal to find Mr Gwilliam and asked anyone with information to contact them. Officers later found the body of a man in New Road, Caerleon on Wednesday afternoon. After formal identification took place, the man has now been identified as the missing 42-year-old.

Police have confirmed that Mr Gwilliam's family and the coroner have been informed and that his death is not being treated as suspicious. His family have also thanked those who responded to the police appeal and helped in trying to find him.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "A body of a man was found in New Road, Caerleon shortly after 1.40pm on Wednesday 6 July. We can confirm formal identification has taken place and the man has been identified as Sam Gwilliam, 42, from Newport, who was reported as missing to Gwent Police on Saturday 2 July.
