Body of missing 44-year-old found in sea

The body of a man has been found in the sea near a Welsh beach after he was reported missing. A body was found off Silver Bay, Anglesey, on Saturday and has since been identified as that of Gareth Arnold, 44, North Wales Live reports.

Mr Arnold was reported missing several days ago, and a search operation was launched. Police, coastguard and mountain rescue personnel were involved in the search.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "It is with deep sadness that we can confirm that the body of a man was found in the water at Silver Bay, near Rhoscolyn on Saturday afternoon.

"The man has now formally been identified as 44-year-old Gareth Arnold, who we circulated as missing towards the end of last week." The spokesperson confirmed that there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances, and continued: "Our deepest condolences remain with Gareth’s family and friends at this difficult time.

"Thank you to partner agencies, volunteers and members of the public who assisted in our searches for Gareth."
