Emergency services have rushed to a Scots beach after the body of a man was discovered on Thursday afternoon.
Police were made aware of the grim discovery at a beach near Prestonpans High Street, East Lothian, around 1.20pm.
Enquiries are currently ongoing to identify the man and the circumstances surrounding his death.
Officers remain at the scene this afternoon and crews from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also responded to the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of the body of a man found on the beach near Prestonpans High Street around 1.20pm on Thursday, 2 March.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
