Body of man found near Scots beach as police probe 'unexplained death'

The body of a man has been found near a beach in East Lothian.

Police were alerted to the discovery close to Longniddry Beach in the area at 11.20am on Friday, December 9.

An investigation has been launched into the death, which officers are currently treating as unexplained.

Inquiries remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At 11.20am on Friday, December 9 police received a report a man’s body had been found on the beach near Longniddry, East Lothian.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained pending further inquiries.”
