Body of man found in West Lothian house after neighbour "hadn't seen him for months"

The body of a man was discovered at a West Lothian flat after a neighbour said they hadn't seen him for months.

Officers were called to the property on Lanrigg Road in Fauldhouse on Sunday night.

The body of a 57-year-old man was found inside.

Police are investigating the death.

A neighbour, who saw six forensic officers removing boxes from the flat said he hadn't seen his neighbour in months.

The neighbour told the Record: "I hadn't seen him for six months and I've not seen the guy who lets the property for around three months.

"The police were there from 6pm and caused a traffic jam and they were there until around 5am the next morning.

"I've got an ex-partner and kids and I'm just sitting here thinking 'is that going to be me one day?'"

Officers carried out door-to-door enquiries at the scene.

Police Scotland confirmed that enquiries are continuing and that a report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.30pm on Sunday, 12 June, police were called to an address in Lanrigg Road, Fauldhouse, Bathgate.

"A 57-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries continue at this time.

"A report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal."
