Body of man found in tent in Dublin City Centre

Gardai have launched an investigation after the body of a man was discovered in a tent in Dublin City Centre overnight.

The discovery was made at around 3am at Loftus Lane, between Bolton Street and Parnell Street.

A post-mortem examination of the body will be carried out.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live that the man received treatment at the scene but was later pronounced dead.

He said: "Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of a man’s body at Loftus Lane, Dublin 1 in the early hours of this morning, Monday, 21 March 2022.

"Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at approximately 3am. The man received treatment at the scene but was later pronounced deceased.

"The scene remains preserved this morning and a post-mortem will now be arranged, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation."
