The body of a man has been found in a Scots town after police taped off the area this morning. The discovery was made around 7.30am today when police arrived in the Millcroft Road area of Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire.
Emergency services including Scottish Ambulance Service raced to the scene but sadly, the man was pronounced dead upon arrival. The age of the man is not yet known.
Locals had reported the area around the Nisa store on Millcroft Road had been taped off by officers this morning.
Officers say the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 7.30am on Saturday, 23 July, to a report of a concern for person in the Millcroft Road area of Cumbernauld.
“Emergency services attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
