Body of man discovered in Edinburgh as emergency services race to scene

The body of a man has been discovered in Edinburgh this morning.

Emergency services raced to Tower Place in Leith after the alarm was raised at around 7.40am on Monday, April 25.

Officers say they were called to the report of a "concern for a person" at the scene.

Tragically, upon arrival the body of a man was discovered.

It's understood officers quickly cordoned off the area while they carried out a probe into the death.

Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Their enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 7.40am on Monday, April 25, to a report of a concern for person in Tower Place, Edinburgh.

"The body of a man was found.

“The death is not believed to be suspicious and enquiries are ongoing.”
