The body of a 22-year-old man has been found in the Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye after a major search operation.
The discovery was made near the Carbost area of the island at 12.10pm on Friday, May 19. His family have been informed.
A multi-unit search operation had been underway to trace the missing man after he fell into the water the previous day. A HM Coastguard helicopter, police search units, teams from Mountain Rescue and ambulance service crews had been drafted in to the rescue mission.
Earlier road closures have since been lifted.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.10pm on Friday, May 19 the body of a man was found in the Fairy Pools, near Carbost, Skye. The family of a 22-year-old man who fell in the water on Thursday, 18 May, has been informed.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. Earlier road closures have been lifted."
