Body of a man found as police launch investigation

A police investigation has been launched after a male body was found in a street in Bury this morning.

Officers were called to reports of an incident on Square Street in Ramsbottom at around 9am on Sunday morning (August 14).

After arriving at the scene, police said a deceased male body was found at an address.

There are thought to be no suspects but a police investigation is being carried out. Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 9am today (Sunday 14 August 2022) we received a report of an incident on Square Street, Ramsbottom (Bury).

“Police can confirm a deceased male body has been found at an address and are currently investigating the circumstances.

“At this stage, it is believed there are no suspects but enquiries are ongoing.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or via the GMP website. Alternatively, information can also be shared anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
