Body of 34-year-old woman found on Glasgow street sparking police investigation

A woman's body has been discovered on a Glasgow street.

Emergency services rushed to Edinbeg Place, in the Toryglen area, at around 7.45am on yesterday, Saturday January 14.

Officers cordoned off the area following the discovery of the 34-year-old's remains. Residents report seeing a heavy police presence hours after the incident was reported, reports the Daily Record.

Police have now launched a probe into the woman's death, however, they have reassured the public there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Edinbeg Place, Glasgow, around 7.45am on Saturday, January 14 following the death of a 34-year-old woman.

"There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
