Body language expert says William and Kate looked 'like a young couple on a first date'

A body language expert says Prince William and Kate Middleton acted like “a young couple on a first date” while attending a charity polo match in Windsor.

Photos show the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge embracing at the Royal Charity Polo Match, while William and Kate were also seen smiling and laughing together at Guards Polo Club on Wednesday.

The Duke was presented with a trophy by his 40-year-old wife after the match.

Body language expert Judi James was reported to have said that the couple appeared to be as in love as ever as their romance approaches the 20-year mark, despite the pair having acknowledged the Queen's desire for royal family members to stay clear of public displays of affection.

According to the Mail she said: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's natural and co-ordinated chemistry together is easily illustrated during these kisses and other PDAs at polo.

“They manage to perform the more formal reward kiss perfectly while giving hints and cues to signal the actual depth of their relationship and how they would normally behave with more intimacy when they were out of public view.

“They later walked off with their arms around each other’s waists, like a young couple on a first date. Their eye contact as they close in for the kiss - this level of close-quarters eye contact shows a very loving relationship.

"Kate’s eye-gaze even moves down to William’s lips, which is a flirtatious gesture."

Judi added that the couples synchronized movements and touches show the couple are relaxed and compatible.

Meanwhile she also pointed out that their facial features soften when looking at each other, an expression commonly known as “the look of love”.

The couple were accompanied by their family dog Orla on their outing to the polo, with Kate stroking the puppy whilst enjoying a glass of Pimms.

The couple's embrace was far removed from an awkward kiss between William's parents at a polo match in India 30 years ago.

On that occasion, Princess Diana famously turned away as Prince Charles leaned in to kiss her on the cheek.
