The body of a man found on a roof in Chapeltown is believed to be that of missing Leeds man Gerard Colgan.
West Yorkshire Police have not yet completed formal identification but believe the body to be Mr Colgan who was reported missing from the address the body was found at on Friday. The body was located at 2.40pm on Sunday afternoon on Harehills Avenue.
Mr Colgan's family have been informed. Police have also said there were no suspicious circumstances and the coroner's office has been informed.
Police and other emergency services closed off Harehills Avenue on Sunday afternoon. In a statement, a police spokesman said: "The body of a man found on the roof of a house in Leeds yesterday is believed to a man reported missing from the address.
"Gerard Colgan, aged 32, was reported missing from the address in Harehills Avenue, Chapeltown, on Friday. At 2.40pm on Sunday, the body was located on the roof.
"While formal identification is yet to be completed, it is believed to be Mr Colgan and his family has been informed. There were no suspicious circumstances and the Coroner’s Office has been notified."
