A cordon is in place after a body was found off a busy road near Wigan.
Forensic officers are carrying out investigation work off White Moss Road South in Skelmersdale near to the junction with Liverpool Road.
Emergency services were called shortly after 11am today (February 22).

After they arrived, a person was pronounced dead at the scene, LancsLive reports.
Enquiries are ongoing and crime scene investigators are carrying out specialist work in the area.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called at shortly after 11am today (Tuesday, February 22nd) to a report that a body had been found off White Moss Road South in Skelmersdale.
"Emergency services are at the scene and enquiries are on-going."
Eyewitnesses on social media reported seeing 'men in white suits' at the scene and a police helicopter in the area.
White Moss Road South is blocked near to the bridge on the Liverpool Street side of the M58.
