A man's body was found in the River Mersey next to a tip.
At around 9.15am today, February 11, emergency services were called to reports of a man in the River Mersey next to Woolston Waste Disposal Centre in Warrington.
Police officers, fire crews and the ambulance service attended but the man died at the scene.

The ECHO understands a cordon is in place near to the recycling centre.
The tip was temporarily closed while emergency services dealt with the incident, however this was reopened at around 11.30am.
Formal identification of the man has not yet taken place.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a case file will be prepared for the coroner.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At around 9.15am today, Friday, February 11, emergency Services were called to reports of a man in the River Mersey, adjacent to Woolston Waste Disposal Centre, Warrington.
"Police, fire and ambulance attended and sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Formal identification of the man has not yet taken place.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a case file will be prepared for the coroner."
