The body of a man has been found in Stockport town centre following a concern for welfare call.
Officers cordoned off a car park off Greek Street, on Monday morning (July 11), after receiving the report. Photographs taken from nearby Royal George Street show a number of police vehicles parked up, with emergency service staff stood within the scene.
Manchester Evening News understands that the man's body was discovered in a van that was on the car park. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) described the death as 'non-suspicious'.
A GMP spokesman said: "[It is a] non-suspicious death. We were called to a report of a concern for the welfare of a man on Greek Street, Stockport, at 8.06am on 11 July 2022."
