Body found in search of Scots woman who vanished on Friday

A body has been found in the search of a Scots woman who vanished over the weekend.

The discovery was made at around 11.30am on Monday November 21 after officers were called to an area of Melrose, a town in the Scottish Borders.

Although formal identification is yet to take place, the family of Kirsty Miller have been informed. Police say there are no apparent suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

The 29-year-old had last been seen in Newton Saint Boswells at around 8am on Saturday November 19. A search bid was launched in the wake of her disappearance, with her loved ones saying they were 'increasingly concerned' for her wellbeing. It has since been stood down in light of latest developments.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.30am on Monday, 21 November, police discovered the body of a woman in the Melrose area. Formal identification has still to take place.

"However, it's believed to be 29-year-old Kirsty Miller, missing from Newtown St Boswells since Friday 19 November, 2022. Her family has been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
