Body found in search for woman who vanished near Kent coast

A body has been found in the search for a 24-year-old missing woman who vanished nearly two weeks ago near the Kent coastline.

Leah Daley was last seen on The Warren coastal walk in Folkestone on Sunday, May 5 at around 7pm.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “A body has been found during a search for a missing woman from Folkestone.

“The discovery was made in undergrowth at The Warren in Folkestone on the afternoon of Friday 17 May 2024.

“While formal identification has not yet taken place, the family of a 24-year-old woman who was reported missing from the town has been informed.”

It comes a day after her family issued an emotional appeal for her return.

CCTV footage revealed some of Ms Daley’s last known steps were near the Warren.

She was seen wearing a dark-coloured ‘Parka’ style coat, patterned leggings, 'Converse' style trainers and carrying a black sports backpack, with her hair pinned up in a bun.

Ms Daley was described by police as being around five feet and four inches tall, with brown shoulder-length hair and blue eyes.
