A body has been found after police launched a massive search for a missing woman.
Cheshire Police say they found a car belonging to Thea Newton, who was last seen in the early hours of this morning at her home address in Warrington.
The car was found parked close to Sunflower Drive.
A major search operation involving officers, search and rescue teams and a drone, then began trying to track her down, focusing on Warrington, its surrounds, and the Trans Pennine Trail.
Cheshire Police has now confirmed they have found a body in their search, which is believed to be Thea. Her next of kin have been informed, reports the Liverpool Echo.
A spokesperson from the force said: "Search teams looking for missing woman Thea Newton, 29, in Warrington have sadly found a body. It is believed to be Thea and her next of kin have been informed.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Earlier today, friends took to social media to share an urgent appeal for information to see if anyone had seen her before the tragic news came in this evening.
Close friend Claudia Stephanie shared an image of Thea and said: "If anyone has seen or heard from Thea Olivia Newston please get in touch.
"She has been missing since the early hours of this morning near her home in Warrington."
In the short space of time it was online, it racked up over 1,000 shares on Facebook, with people rallying to share their messages of hope and extend their thoughts to the family.
Pictures from the scene show a heavy police presence, as well as police tape around the road.
