Body found in search for missing man from Yorkshire

A body has been found in the search for a 64-year-old man from West Yorkshire who has been missing since Thursday.

West Yorkshire Police  issued a public appeal earlier in the week in a bid to trace Steve Convery, of Bingley, near Bradford.

Thousands of people shared the appeal on social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, as reported by our sister title Examiner Live.

However, the force has today confirmed that a man's body had been found in North Yorkshire as part of their searches for Mr Convery. There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

A spokesman said: "Officers investigating the disappearance of Steve Convery of Bingley have recovered a body in the North Yorkshire area.

"It is believed to be that of a man in his sixties and family have been informed of the development.

"There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances."
