Body found in search for missing hillwalker David Low in Glencoe

Mountain rescue teams searching for missing hillwalker David Low have recovered the body of a man.

A frantic search was sparked after the 47-year-old failed to return from a walk in Glencoe on Wednesday.

Police tracing the Bridge of Allan man said he was a keen walker but the details of the route he planned to walk were unknown.

It is believed he left his car in the Three Sisters carpark at Ballachulish around 9am on March 2.

Formal identification of the body recovered is yet to take place but Mr Low's family have been informed of the development.

A Police Scotland statement said: "Mountain rescue teams searching for 47-year-old David Low from Bridge of Allan, who was reported missing after failing to return from a walk in Glencoe on Wednesday, 2 March, 2022, have recovered the body of a man.

"Formal identification has yet to take place but Mr Low’s family has been informed.

"David’s family and Police Scotland would like to pass on their thanks to all volunteer mountain rescue teams and members of the public who assisted with the searches.

"There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
