A BODY has been found in the search for a diver who had been missing for 10 days in Orkney.
The body was discovered on Friday morning near the Churchill Causeway.
The family of the diver who went missing from Scapa Flow has been informed although formal identification has yet to take place.
Police Scotland said there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
A search was launched after the man disappeared on November 27 with HM Coastguard and rescue teams from Kirkwall, Hoy and St Margaret’s combing the area, alongside lifeboats from Longhope and Thurso.
A specialist police marine unit arrived in Orkney on Monday to help with the search.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.30pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, we were made aware of a diver missing in Scapa Flow.
“Around 11am on Friday, December 6, 2024, the body of a man was found in Churchill Causeway, Orkney.
“Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of the diver has been informed.
“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
