Body found at Scots youth hostel as cops launch probe into 'unexplained death'

A man's body has been found at a youth hostel in Glasgow, with police launching a probe into the 'unexplained death'.

Officers raced to the Tartan Lodge hostel on Alexandra Parade in Glasgow last night at around 6.50pm.

Upon arrival they discovered the man's body within the property.

A post-mortem will now be carried out and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

An image from the scene last night showed at least three police cars and one ambulance outside the hostel, as concerned members of the public look on.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Record on Saturday: "Around 6.50 pm on Friday, 26 May 2023 police were called to a hostel on Alexandra Parade in Glasgow after a man was found deceased within.

"His death is being treated as unexplained pending the result of a post mortem examination. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
