A body has been found on a shoreline in Fife amid the search for missing man Andrew Ward who vanished two days ago. The discovery of the body comes after the 47-year-old had been reported missing from St Andrews at around 7.45pm on Tuesday May, 30.
While the body has not been formally identified, the family of the missing man have been informed.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "The body of a man has been recovered from the shoreline near St Andrews. He is yet to be formally identified but the family of Andrew Ward, 47, who had been reported missing in the area has been informed.
"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
