A body has been found during the search for a Scots pensioner who has been missing for over two months.
The discovery was made within the Mile Burn in Gourock, Inverclyde, at 12pm on Wednesday, April 5. While formal identification is yet to take place, the family of missing 70-year-old Patrick Clark have been informed.
Police investigating his death say there appear to be no suspicious circumstances. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Patrick, from Gourock, was reported missing on January 31 after vanishing from Lyle’s pub- formerly Monteith's - on Shore Street. Specialist resources including Police Scotland's air unit and dive and marine search officers had been drafted in to help with the search operation.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At 12pm on Wednesday, April 5, the body of a man was discovered within Mile Burn, Gourock. Although formal identification has still to take place, the family of Patrick Clark, 70, who has been missing from the Gourock area since Tuesday, January 31, 2023, has been informed.
"There would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
