The body of a woman has been found amid the search for missing Cumbernauld mum Karen Stevenson.

The discovery was made by police this morning (March 13) in the Glenboig Road area of Glenboig, North Lanarkshire.

Glasgow Live reported earlier that the rural road was closed between Drumcavel Road and the Johnston Road amid a police incident, before it reopened a short time later.

Police say that formal identification has yet to take place but the family of the 42-year-old, who was reported missing from the Cumbernauld area on Saturday, February 19, have been informed.
