Body discovery at centre of police investigation in Rathcoole and Carrickfergus

A 'serious incident' in Co Antrim is understood to centre around the discovery of a body early this morning.

Police are currently holding two scenes at present, one in the Derrycoole Way area of Rathcoole in Newtownabbey and the other at the North Woodburn Reservoir near Carrickfergus.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the investigation and a vehicle has also been seized.

An earlier PSNI statement said: "Police are investigating a serious incident in the Derrycoole Way area of Rathcoole in Newtownabbey this morning, Monday 28 March.

"Officers are also holding a scene in the Councillors Road/New Line area of Carrickfergus. Two males have been arrested and a vehicle has been seized and taken away for examination.

"There are no further details available at the moment."
