Body discovered in Edinburgh at disused quarry as police launch probe

A body has been discovered at a disused quarry in Edinburgh on Sunday night.

Police were called to the scene at Torphin Quarry in Edinburgh yesterday (November 6). The Daily Record reports that a body was then found at the site on Torphin Road.

The age or gender of the person who passed away is not known at this time. Officers have now launched an investigation into the incident.

Police Scotland have confirmed that their enquiries are currently ongoing.

A spokesperson for the force said : “At 12.50am on Sunday, 6 November, 2022 we received a report that a body had been discovered a disused quarry in Torphin Road, Edinburgh.

"Enquiries are ongoing.”
