Body discovered during search for missing 86-year-old West Lothian man

A body has been discovered during the search for missing care home resident, James Clark originally from West Lothian.

The discovery was made near the Crossford area in Lanarkshire at 12.45pm today. While formal identification is yet to take place, the 86-year-old's family have been made aware.

The pensioner had been missing for two days after disappearing on Saturday, April 1. Police investigating his death say there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.45pm on Monday, 3 April, the body of a man was discovered near the Crossford area in Lanarkshire.

"Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of James Clark, 86, who was reported missing from Crossford on Saturday, 1 April, has been made aware.

"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
