Bodalla collision with ambulance kills male driver, seriously injures paramedic

An ambulance was involved in a serious road crash near Bodalla on Thursday afternoon. (ABC South East NSW: Floss Adams)

A man has died in a two-vehicle crash involving an ambulance on the New South Wales Far South Coast.

Police say the crash occurred at Bodalla on the Princes Highway, near Brou Lake Road, at about 1:40pm.

A male driver, believed to be aged in his 30s, died at the scene.

He is yet to be identified.

NSW Ambulance confirmed two paramedics, a patient and a family member were on board the ambulance at the time, and all have been taken to hospital for assessment.

One of the paramedics is in a serious condition in Canberra hospital.

The patient in the back of the ambulance suffered minor injuries.

Traffic is affected in both directions.

A NSW Ambulance spokesperson says they are unable to comment further.

Crash investigators have been examining the scene.
