Bobby Madden named Rangers vs Celtic referee for Scottish Cup showdown at Hampden

Bobby Madden has been selected as the referee for Celtic and Rangers' crucial Scottish Cup semi-final tie later this month.

The pair collided on Sunday and will do so again in just under a fortnight's time to reach the tournament's showpiece match.

Madden took charge of February's convincing 3-0 win for the Hoops over their Glasgow rivals and he has again been selected for derby duty.

Alan Mulvanny and Dougie Potter are his assistants with Steven McLean as fourth official.

John Beaton meanwhile takes charge of Hearts v Hibs in the other Scottish Cup semi-final as the Edinburgh derby arrives at the national stadium.

Madden has dished out 90 yellow cards over his 31 games in all competitions this season.

But a free-flowing affair could be in store at Hampden as he has brandished just three red cards this campaign.

Rangers will be keen to make amends for the 3-0 and 2-1 losses to Celtic this year, which have put them six points behind Ange Postecoglou 's men in the title race with six games to go.
