Bob Yalen resigns as MTK CEO after 'pressure of last few weeks' following Daniel Kinahan sanctions

MTK Global's CEO has resigned from the role following the 'the pressure of the last few weeks'.

Bob Yalen, who has served as MTK's President and CEO since 2018, resigned from the role on Tuesday morning for 'personal reasons'.

It comes just over a week after Daniel Kinahan was named as being a head of the Irish Kinahan crime gang and hit with worldwide financial sanctions by the United States Government.

MTK said in a statement: "We regret to announce that Bob Yalen has today stepped down as CEO of MTK Global for personal reasons.

"We would like to thank him for all of his efforts on behalf of the business and his leadership of our team."

Yalen, who has no involvement in criminality, added: "I am incredibly proud of the success of MTK Global and I feel privileged to have served as President and CEO since 2018.

“However, the pressure of the last few weeks has been particularly intense. I need to consider the impact on myself and my family. So after four years leading MTK, I think it's time for me to step aside to take on new challenges."

Kinahan was a co-founder of the MTK Global agency, which represents a number of boxing’s leading fighters.

He says he cut ties with MTK in 2017, but the world of sport was warned over its involvement with the Kinahan organised crime group after US sanctions were put in place.

US authorities have offered a five million dollars reward for information on senior members of the Kinahan organised crime group.
