Bob Odenkirk has spoke for the first time about his heart attack on the set of Better Call Saul.
The actor, 48, recalled the shocking moment he turned "bluish-grey" last July and was left hospitalised.
Speaking to the New York Times, the star said: "I’d known since 2018 that I had this plaque buildup in my heart.
"I went to two heart doctors at Cedars-Sinai, and I had dye and an M.R.I. and all that stuff, and the doctors disagreed."
As both physicians gave different options, the star decided to wait before beginning any course of medication.
However, that certainly wasn't the right thing to do and he admitted that despite everything being okay with his heart for a while, things quickly changed when "one of those pieces of plaque broke up" while he was on set.
He explained: 'We were shooting a scene, we’d been shooting all day, and luckily I didn’t go back to my trailer.
"I went to play the Cubs game and ride my workout bike [somewhere he and fellow co-stars spent some of their downtime] and I just went down. Rhea [Seehorn] said I started turning bluish-grey right away."
Rhea was alongside Patrick Fabian when the incident happened and the pair immediately screamed to alert the on-set medics of the situation.
According to the NYT, there was a few "agonisingly long minutes" before the show's health safety supervisor, Rosa Estrada, arrived alongside assistant director Angie Meyer.
The report says the pair administered CPR and hooked him up to an automated defibrillator which zapped him three times.
The first two were said to bring an irregular pulse that quickly disappeared, before the third is was "got me that rhythm back" according to Bob.
In hospital, doctors "blew up the little balloons and knocked out that plaque and left stents in two places".
Bob revealed in September that he was back at work, telling his Instagram followers he was "back to work on Better Call Saul".
His note continued: "So happy to be here and living this specific life surrounded by such good people. BTW this is makeup pro Cheri Montesanto making me not ugly for shooting!"
Fans were on hand at the time to send well wishes and express their joy at his return.
One person replied: "YES! Wonderful news!" while another wrote: "HOORAY! The entire world loves you and is so glad to see you well!"
A third fan commented: "Stay safe, Bob, and be sure to say "No" if they work you too hard. You are LOVED!" followed by a red heart emoji.
