Bob Mortimer has given an update on his health following recent scares as he explained a certain issues is "dominating" his life. The comedian and author was speaking during an appearance on Channel 4 show Sunday Brunch to promote his new novel The Satsuma Complex, which was released last month.
During his on the show on November 6, Bob told presenters Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer how certain health issues have forced him to give up one of his passions, reports Leicestershire Live. The Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing star, who has experienced several health scares over the years, was recently admitted to hospital and said at the time he was "not very healthy".
Bob talks with his friend and fellow comedian Paul Whitehouse about their shared heart problems on their BBC Two programme Gone Fishing, which they have appeared on together since 2018. When asked about their heart health on Sunday Brunch, Bob said: "They're doing fine."

The 63-year-old added: "When you get to my age, it's your joints that go. That's what dominates your life". He cited his knees and elbows as examples.
Bob then revealed: "I used to love preparing an exterior of a property ready to paint, but I can't do that anymore" because of such issues, suggesting it would cause issues with his shoulders. Bob, also known for work with his double act comedy partner Vic Reeves, added: "You have a few operations" and went on to say these procedures "keep you ticking over."
On the subject of his book, Bob described it as a "boy meets girl" story and teased there is a "bit of a thriller element" as well. He added he had tried to incorporate comedy as well.
