Bob Marley: One Love trailer finally drops – all we know about the upcoming biopic

The first look at the Bob Marley film has finally been released.

The upcoming biopic, Bob Marley: One Love, is set to hit UK cinemas on February 14 next year.

The synopsis for the biopic reads: “Bob Marley: One Love celebrates the life and music of an icon who inspired generations through his message of love and unity. On the big screen for the first time, discover Bob’s powerful story of overcoming adversity and the journey behind his revolutionary music.”

And now the first trailer has dropped and fans are excited.

Here is everything we know.

Who is in Bob Marley: One Love?

A host of British stars will appear in the film, with the reggae hero being played by Brit star Kingsley Ben-Adir.

The movie has been produced and directed closely with Bob Marley's family and so a lot of thought has gone into casting. Orly Marley, the daughter-in-law of Bob Marley, is an executive producer, while Bob's widow Rita and his son Ziggy are producers, alongside Brad Pitt.

The biopic will also star James Norton, Lashana Lynch, and Tosin Cole.

What is it about?

The biopic will tell the tale of the legend's life – spanning all things love and career-wise.

Bob Marley was born in Saint Ann, Jamaica, on February 6, 1945, but spent lots of time in London and the film is set to feature his time in the capital, according to NME.

It will also tell the story of his rise to fame as a global superstar, as well as showing his work in raising awareness of political and social injustices, and the struggle that came alongside standing up for what he believed.

As well as his life, the story will also detail his death. Bob Marley was diagnosed with cancer in 1977 and received treatment for it.

He then went on tour for his album in 1980, Uprising, but collapsed while jogging in Central Park, New York. He was taken to hospital, where it was found that the cancer had spread. He died a year later.

In 2001, he was awarded a posthumous Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to music.

What are Marley's fans saying?

Because of how closely the family has worked with the movie, many avid fans are excited for an honest and true account of the legend's life.

Following the release of the trailer, many have taken to social media to share their excitement:
