Bob Arum tells Eddie Hearn to 'keep his mouth shut' over Tyson Fury ticket

Bob Arum, Tyson Fury’s US promoter, has hit back at Eddie Hearn’s suggestion that he might be banned from seeing his fighter, Dillian Whyte, take on the heavyweight champion.

The American, along with UK co-promoter Frank Warren, won a long battle of purse bids to promote the fight for a record fee of £24m. Fury and Whyte will face off at Wembley Stadium in front of around 90,000 fans on April 23.

Speaking to Boxing Social last week, Hearn had mooted that he might not be allowed into the fight despite it involving his fighter. He said: "I don’t think I’m allowed, but I was thinking about going in the corner and carrying the bucket.

“I would do that. I would put on a Dillian Whyte t-shirt and carry the bucket in the corner.” But Arum has now refuted this, hitting back at Hearn during an interview with FightHype .

“Eddie Hearn can’t keep his mouth shut,” he said. “I never talk about an Eddie Hearn fight.

“Why? Not because I’m a good guy, but his fight is his fight – none of my business. Eddie Hearn – everything is his business.

“He said that we’ve banned him from going to the fight. We’ve only banned him if he doesn’t have a ticket. If he has a ticket, he can come.

“He’s gonna carry Whyte’s bucket, he said, so he can get to the fight. What kind of crazy s*** is that? If he called me up, you don’t think I’d get him a ticket?”

Fury will be fighting on home soil for the first time in nearly four years, and many have speculated that it may be his last with future fights likely to take place abroad. The undefeated world champion is taking on a fellow Brit for the first time since his win over Derek Chisora at London’s ExCel Arena in 2014.
