A boat has burst into flames in a harbour in Aberdeenshire today, sparking an emergency response.
Mercy crews, including Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Police Scotland, rushed to the scene around 4pm after being alerted to reports of a blaze at Macduff Boat Yard.
Images show plumes of thick, black smoke billowing from the vessel, which appears to be docked.
Footage also shows multiple firefighters on site and a cordon erected around the affected area while locals gather nearby to survey the damage being caused.
The fire service has confirmed that four fire engines and a height appliance are currently in attendance in a bid to extinguish the inferno.
Officers have also said that there were no people on board at the time of the incident.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious, they added.
A fire service spokesperson said: “We are currently in attendance in Macduff after receiving a call at 3.53pm.
“Four appliances and a height appliance are in attendance.
"Crews are dealing with a fire onboard one of the vessels. Crews are still fighting the fire."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to reports of a boat on fire at the Macduff Boat Yard at around 4pm on Thursday, 2 June, 2022.
