BN biscuits are back - McVitie's announce return of much-loved noughties treat

When it comes to catchy jingles, nothing quite beats the tune for BN biscuits tune - which never fails to get stuck in your head for hours.

And now those delicious biscuits are back, with four nostalgic flavours of the classic snacks back on sale.

BN biscuits are on sale now in Asda and will be available in all other shops in February.

You'll be able to get your hands on chocolate, vanilla and strawberry flavours as well as the mini versions

The biscuit behind the world-famous jingle will relaunch with flavours including BN Chocolate, BN Vanilla, Mini BN Chocolate and Mini BN Strawberry

From Thursday 27 January, Brits are once again able to 'taste the smile' and relive the noughties nostalgia.

McVitie’s marketing director David Titman told Convenience Store : "We know that BN biscuits have a place in many British shoppers’ hearts, thanks to their recognisable grin, great taste and a very memorable jingle.

"We’re thrilled to be bringing them back to supermarket shelves under our iconic McVitie’s brand – the nation’s biggest biscuit brand – to join our collection of biscuit tin favourites, from McVitie’s Chocolate Digestives to McVitie’s Hobnobs, and help retailers benefit from the sales opportunity BN presents.

"We see McVitie’s BN bringing moments of joyful fun to families and households up and down the country, whether during sharing moments in front of a film, or out and about on family adventures."

The nation's favourite golden-baked biscuits are sandwiched together with a flavoured filling, and packs are available for £1 RRP.

The full-sized option comes in packs of 16 and is available in either Chocolate and Vanilla.

Mini BN packs are available in Chocolate or Strawberry, with each packet containing five grab-and-go sets of five mini biscuits.

The revamped products also feature recyclable packaging.

BN, which stands for Biscuiterie Nantaise, was launched in 1932 in France.

The brand was relaunched in the UK in 1999, alongside a famous advertising campaign with the name “BN BN” sung along to the popular song ‘Mah Nà Mah Nà’ - launching the treats to global stardom.

However, the biscuits were not sold in the UK between 2003 to 2013, with the decision being met with widespread controversy and even petitions to bring them back.

In 2013, BN returned to UK supermarkets with new packaging and logos - but four years ago they were discontinued once again much to shoppers' dismay.

The biscuits make an excellent break time snack or a perfect dessert after lunch or dinner.

Savvy Brits have already spotted BN biscuits on shelves and have shared the exciting news on social media.

One Twitter user posted an emoji with hearts for eyes, accompanying a Tweet that said: "I just found some BN biscuits in a shop near me."

Another chimed in: "Yes @McVities! BN biscuits are back at Asda."

A third said: "BN biscuits are a thing again."
