A fire ripped through a house after a BMW burst into flames on the driveway.
The white BMW was completely destroyed in the blaze which broke out shortly before 2am on Thursday, July 14 on Royston Street in Kensington. Three fire engines and an aerial appliance were sent to the scene, where they found a fire involving a car and a house.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said all occupants of the property were already outside when they arrived and firefighters used high pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire. They remained on scene until 5.33am when the incident was handed over to Merseyside Police.

The remains of the burnt out car can be seen on the driveway today, while the house has been blackened by smoke. Photos taken at the scene also show a section of the public pathway has been fenced off outside the house.
A joint investigation between Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and Merseyside Police is underway to establish the cause of the fire.
Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “We are in the very early stages of the investigation and still establishing how the car caught fire. As it was in a residential area I would appeal if any neighbours who saw something suspicious to please contact us as this information could be vital to our inquiries.
“I would also ask residents to please check your CCTV, doorbell and dashcam footage which may be captured how the fire was started.”
Anyone in the area with information, CCTV or dashcam can contact us on 101 or Facebook ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ with reference 22000500762. You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
