BMW drove into pedestrians 'at speed' on main street with one rushed to hospital

Police are appealing for information after a collision on Bolton's Bradshawgate in December last year. The smash happened around 5am on December 23 with police saying a man drove at pedestrians at speed before hitting two people.

One man was taken to hospital as a result of the crash, police said at the time. GMP have now issued an appeal for information surrounding the incident.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "On Friday 23 December 2022, at around 5am, Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a disturbance on Bradshawgate, Bolton. Officers attended and established that a man driving a black BMW 1 series had driven towards pedestrians at speed, causing a collision.

"Officers have followed a number of lines of enquiry and are now in a position to appeal to members of the public for more information. Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the Bradshawgate area at the time of the incident who may have mobile, CCTV or dash cam footage to please share it with GMP."

Information can be provided by calling 0161 856 5757 quoting incident number 496 of 23/12/2022. Reports can also be made via the website www.gmp.police.uk. Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
