Blue Chip Recruit Pulls an All-Time Fake Out Committing Between Ohio State, Michigan

In the world of multiple signing days, NIL and more lax recruiting limitations, the spectacle that is college football commitment stunts has become a year-round endeavor. And that tradition gets particularly spicy when a pair of rival schools are duking it out for the services of the same high-profile recruit.

In the case of blue-chip cornerback prospect Aaron Scott Jr., his commitment on Sunday pitted Ohio State and Michigan against one another. And the result did not disappoint.

With his family on hand, the four-star native of Springfield, Ohio, sat at a long table and prepared to make his announcement by pulling out a backpack with the Michigan logo on it. Of course, that turned out to be a red herring, as he reached into it and pulled out an Ohio State jersey.

His family then removed their jackets to reveal Buckeyes shirts underneath, which drew a warm reaction from the crowd (and certainly got a cheer from Ohio State coach Ryan Day and staff).

As for Wolverines fans? The reaction was likely a bit different, but considering Scott is an Ohio native, that was likely his intention. One thing is certain about the Michigan faithful: They won’t forget about this moment come Nov. 25, when the Wolverines look to make three consecutive Big Game victories.
