'Blown away' - Former England international heaps praise on Leeds United supporters

Ex-England international Trevor Sinclair has revealed he was absolutely blown away by the atmosphere within Elland Road, despite Leeds United succumbing to a frustrating 4-0 loss to Premier League title chasers Manchester City.

The Whites fought hard against City, and didn't sit back in against one of the best sides in the league, but they were ultimately outclassed by Pep Guardiola's side.

Goals from Rodri, Nathan Ake, Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho saw City run out 4-0 winners against Jesse Marsch's Leeds but that didn't stop the crowd from voicing their support for the home side.

Elland Road was rocking from the first minute to the last, with the home fans roaring their side on in an effort to give them that little bit extra in their relegation battle.

And Ex-City player Sinclair, who made 12 appearance for England agreed that the atmosphere within Elland Road was something to behold.

Sinclair tweeted: "Pretty blown away by the Leeds Utd fans at Elland Road today. Beaten 0-4 but sang their hearts out from min 1 till way after the match had ended"

Sinclair wasn't the only prominent figure to agree either. Speaking after the game, Leeds head coach Marsch admitted the atmosphere inside the stadium was unlike anything he had ever experience in his coaching career.

"The best part is that we saw the fan's response after a match," said Marsch in his post-match presser. "A 4-0 loss at home and you saw so much passion and love for this team, and this club from our fans.

"I know some people may have thought I was being facetious or sarcastic when I said it was the best team in the world against the best club in the world. But I mean that. I've never seen a place like this and it's a very unique relationship that this club has with its fan base and with the city."
