As Hollywood swings into Oscars season, the satirical Razzie Awards are preparing to give Golden Raspberries to some of the less-celebrated films of 2022.
Organisers say Blonde, inspired by the life of Marilyn Monroe, leads its pack of "cinematic mongrels" with eight nominations, including Worst Picture, Worst Screenplay and Worst Director.
"Called a 'biopic that's not a biopic' by its makers, it 'explores' the exploitation of Marilyn Monroe … by continuing to exploit her posthumously'," Razzies' organisers say.
Not far behind are the stoner comedy Good Mourning, with seven nominations, and perhaps 2022's most-ridiculed movie, Morbius, with five — including a Worst Actor nomination for Jared Leto.
Other films with multiple nominations include Disney's live-action remake of Pinocchio and American action-adventure fantasy film The King's Daughter.
Diana: The Musical and Space Jam: A New Legacy received the most Golden Raspberries in the 2021 Razzie Awards.
The 2022 Razzie "winners" will be unveiled on "Oscar Eve", Saturday, March 11.
