Bleak Man United future for Harry Maguire as Gary Neville has a message for the Glazers

Here are your Manchester United morning headlines for Thursday, March 31.

Carragher on Maguire's future

Jamie Carragher has told Harry Maguire that he has a “lack of authority” in the Manchester United dressing room and urged him to front up to the task at hand.

The defender was booed by England fans on Tuesday when his name was read out in the line-up announcement before the national team’s friendly with the Ivory Coast. This was roundly condemned post-match by his international teammates and Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate.

United are now outside contenders for a top four finish having crashed out of Champions League to Atletico Madrid in the Round of 16 earlier this month. Maguire was one of the players who bore the brunt of heavy criticism from club supporters in the wake of this.

Neville sends Glazers to-do list

Gary Neville has given the Glazer family a lengthy to-do list at Manchester United after making a passionate call for them to sell the club.

The Glazers' time in charge at Old Trafford has proven hugely unpopular with supporters, with a number of protests having taken place during their tenure. The relationship between the owners and the fans hit an all-time low last year when they became heavily involved in the failed formation of the European Super League.

The Glazers have also been largely blamed for United’s lack of success since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson as manager. The Reds have failed to win the league since the Scot’s departure in 2013, and have dropped further away from contention as the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea have overtaken them.
