The Indianapolis Colts are entering a 2022 campaign in which many believe they are the team to beat in the AFC South instead of the Tennessee Titans, the team that has won back-to-back division titles.
Bleacher Report recently added itself to that list, as it’s experts are predicting the Colts to win the AFC South over the Titans in 2022; however, the voting was close, as Indy received three votes to Tennessee’s two.
In the interest of not having to re-type the same thing again, here’s what I wrote about the Colts being favorites for the division earlier in the day.
All this talk about the Colts is understandable, but when you put their roster side-by-side with Tennessee’s, it’s clear the two teams are very similar. After all, the Colts have a lot of question marks on offense, while also sporting a defense that has elite potential, albeit with a few question marks of its own.
So, with all things mostly being equal, the Titans should be given the edge here, especially after getting the better of the Colts in recent years, winning four of the last five matchups, including a season sweep in 2021.
Despite what they’ve done the past three years, the Titans still aren’t getting the benefit of the doubt in the AFC South, but that’s nothing new and it’s a position Tennessee usually thrives from, so keep the doubts coming.
