Going blonde is a big commitment, and anyone who’s put peroxide on their hair will know that you have to take extremely good care of it to keep it looking and feeling healthy.
One product almost anyone that’s ever set foot in a hair salon has heard of is Olaplex, but when you’ve paid in excess of £60 for your new do, the last thing you want is to then fork out nearly £30 for a product.
So, ever the bargain hunters, blonde-haired Brits have been raving about an alternative that you can get on Amazon for a third of the price , offering similar results with ‘no breakages’.

The Jerome Russell Bblonde Jplex collection is currently under £10 at Amazon , and includes a bond builder, a bond maintainer treatment and a hair perfector. Shoppers are saying it's the perfect Olaplex replacement, at a snip of the price.
The Jerome Russell Bblonde Jplex Professional Hair Bond Strengthening System is priced at £9.31, and is a two-part hair strengthening system. The first part can be mixed with colour or bleach to strengthen hair through the colouring process, while the second part is a deep conditioner for post colouring, which seeps into hair and repairs any broken hair bonds.
Shoppers can then follow up with the £9.30 Jerome Russell Bblonde Jplex Bond Maintainer Treatment , which ‘further binds the hair without any of the chemicals from the hair colour working against it’. Blondes just have to leave it on for around 10 minutes, or a little longer depending on the extent of the damage.
Finally, the Jerome Russell Bblonde JPlex Hair Perfector is £9.49. The product is a keratin-based spray that delivers ‘instant shine and repair’ and can be used as part of your everyday hair care routine.
Together, the trio comes in at £28.10 , which is just 10p more than one Olaplex shampoo. But, those who love the product can subscribe via Amazon to have it delivered regularly, knocking a further 25 per cent off the price.
While people with colour treated, dry or damaged hair will notice the most hair improvements when using the range, they can be used by any hair type for that extra boost of hair TLC.
Amazon shopper Kelly said: "I have been bleaching my hair for years and it's always damaged after and feels horrible. I added this stuff to the bleach and it's like a miracle! no hair loss and my hair feels lovely, I will never bleach my hair without this now.”
Beth Wylie added: "Really left my hair manageable during bleaching and the maintenance is heavenly! Very similar to Olaplex but with the price tag.”
Gesagen wrote: "I searched for the Jerome Russell shampoo to buy separately and discovered this by accident (which happens with most good finds) . It has just changed my hair texture from 'bordering on brittle' to shiny hair that actually moves."
"It’s a really good substitute for Olaplex (much cheaper),” added another.
While a fifth commented: "I have bleached my hair within an inch of its life and have lost a lot as well!! I wish I had tried this before as I re-did it last night and it made such a difference. It left my hair really soft and absolutely no breakage. Trust me if you bleach your hair at home then you need this."
