A Blantyre woman is renting out the swimming pool in her home so that children can learn to swim.
Laura Fergusson was initially delighted with the 12x5m feature when she bought her house.
But after the novelty wore off and she didn’t use it as much, she decided to open it up to the community to help children learn to swim.
Laura said: “We moved into the house in 2017, and after a while we weren’t really using the pool. It is a lot of money to run if you don’t use it regularly, so we had an idea.
“I decided to rent it out to a group called Little Nessies, which is a swimming class for babies and young children, we would rather someone got good use out of it.”
She added: “We wanted to make sure we went through all the right routes and got our licensing from the council sorted.”
The company director of Little Nessies, Lynne Hunter, said: “We are based all over in different venues, but it is becoming more and more difficult to keep up with the demand of private lessons. There are the students but not the pools.
“When Laura got in touch with me about using her pool, I jumped at the chance.
“We do lessons from babies to adults. Laura’s pool is the perfect size.”
