A man has been jailed for 21 months after a stolen car and parts from a van that had been stolen were found in a Blantyre yard.
Police also seized piles of vehicle batteries that had disappeared from a repair centre in Uddingston.
Andrew Thomson, 32, of Small Crescent, Blantyre, was sentenced at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.
He admitted the reset of two vehicles and 82 batteries at premises in Forrest Street in June 2020.
Abby Seal, prosecuting, said police officers spotted a black Audi in the yard and a computer check revealed it had been stolen from an address in Glasgow.
She told the court: "A search warrant was obtained and 82 Hilti batteries were seized. Officers also found various parts of a Ford Transit vehicle.
"The Audi was valued at £11,500 while the Ford Transit was worth £35,000.
"Inquiries revealed the batteries had been stolen from a repair centre in Uddingston in May 2020. These were worth approximately £16,000."
Sheriff Alasdair MacFadyen told Thomson the charges were serious and he had a “significant” criminal record.
