Blake Lively has shared a heartfelt tribute to her former co-star Michelle Trachtenberg, remembering her as “fiercely loyal” with a “huge heart”.
The actress penned her thoughts on her Instagram Story on Thursday (local time), sharing a picture of the first day she met Trachtenberg. The story came shortly after the actress was found unresponsive in her New York City home.
The pair worked together on the hugely popular Gossip Girl series, with Lively playing Serena van der Woodsen and Trachtenberg portraying her frenemy Georgina Sparks.
In her tribute, Lively described her former co-star as “electricity”, stating “you knew when she entered a room because the vibration changed”.

“Everything she did, she did 200 per cent. She laughed the fullest at someone’s joke, she faced authority head on when she felt something was wrong, she cared deeply about her work,” Lively stated.
“She was proud to be a part of this community and industry as painful as it could be sometimes.
“She was fiercely loyal to her friends and brave for those she loved, she was big and bold and distinctly herself.”
She also recalled Trachtenberg would often wear “yummy caramel smelling lipgloss” while filming. This was because she “liked creating a nice experience for anyone who was in her orbit,” Lively said.
“She cared about the sweet details. She was a kind person, through and through.”

In her message, the It Ends With Us actress reminded fans that “time passes” quickly and it can be easy to “take for granted that you get the chance to see an old friend”.
“Hold those you love and have loved dear. The world lost a deeply sensitive and good person in Michelle,” Lively stated.
“May her work and her huge heart be remembered by those who were lucky enough to experience her fire.”
Lively’s heartfelt message joins a number of tributes that have been pouring in for the 39-year-old actress, whose nearly three decade career included roles as Dawn Summers in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Casey Carlyle in Ice Princess, and Jenny in cult classic EuroTrip.

Fellow Gossip Girl alum Ed Westwick also shared his condolences on Instagram, writing: “So sad to hear of the passing of Michelle Trachtenberg. Sending prayers”.
Marking another Gossip Girl tribute, Chase Crawford — who played Nate Archibald on the series — described Trachtenberg as “one of a kind”.
“I remember her coming on set for the first time and just absolutely owning it,” he shared in an Instagram post.
“She was a force of nature and just so so unapologetically funny and magnetic.. remembering those years with a big smile. Just a terrible loss. Love you.”

Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson — who worked with the actress at Nickelodeon — shared a video and a photo of the pair together. He, too, reminded others to check in on their loved ones.
“Our first Nick movie star has departed us!!” Thompson wrote.
“She was my friend and now she rests!! 🙏🏾 Check on your people!!! ❤️”
In the words of one fan’s comment on Instagram — a lot of millennial hearts have been left pretty broken with the news.
